Maths – Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills

At Red Balloon, we recognize that many learners come to our Center with negative school experiences and may have been out of school for an extended period. When they begin studying math with us, our primary focus is to help them build confidence in their mathematical skills, both mental and written, while fostering a positive “can do” mindset towards challenges. Once they have established this foundation, we can guide them toward achieving a qualification suited to their abilities and future pathways in further education or employment.
Curriculum Intent
Pearson Edexcel’s Functional Skills Qualifications in Mathematics is for learners who want to develop understanding and skills in math. It gives learners the opportunity to:-
demonstrate a sound grasp of the underpinning skills and basics of mathematical problem-solving skills appropriate to the level, and the ability to apply mathematical thinking to solve problems in familiar situations
